A Simple Recipe for a Mouth-Watering Dessert Loaf Made with Banana
Given below is a quick and easy banana bread recipe that only takes about five (5) minutes to prepare. Yes, you still need to bake it - but that's the easy bit! The reason this is such a quick banana bread recipe lies in the fact that you can just mix it quickly by hand, without having to take out the electric mixer and then wash it and put it away again, combined with the fact that this dessert bread recipe uses only one mixer bowl. Very few dishes, extremely quick and simple to prepare - oh, and have I mentioned it's delicious? Not only that, this recipe is also really easy on the pocket.
Bananas are low in fat, have absolutely no cholesterol and also have a very high fiber content. And do you know that bananas also have some protein content? But best of all, bananas are conveniently found everywhere. Baked banana bread, like all baked goodies, will convert your kitchen into aroma heaven. And it isn't as complex as apple pie or chocolate mousse. I tried making this just the other day and I was amazed that even a 6-year old kid is able to do this. This recipe is truly fantabulous, so go ahead and try it.
This is the basic recipe. You can add chocolate chips, raisins, walnuts, peanuts, cashew nuts, etc. dependent on your preference. I like to drizzle ground nuts on top just when the loaf is about half done. You know, "to each his own" right? Now, let's begin.
Required ingredients:
- One and a half cups of flour
- 3 large bananas
- 1/3 cup of softened butter
- One teaspoon of vanilla
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- One (1) pinch of salt
- One (1) egg, beaten
Directions:
1) First, pre-heat your oven to 350F.
2) In a large bowl, blend the bananas and the butter. The bananas will need to be mashed before combining them, but mixing them thoroughly with the butter will have the same effect.
3) Add in the sugar, vanilla and the egg, and mix well.
4) Then add the flour, a pinch of salt and the baking powder, and mix thoroughly.
5) Pour the mixture into a bread loaf pan and bake for approx. sixty (60) minutes. Once you can poke the batter with a knife and none of it sticks, then you'll know the batter is done baking and has become banana bread.
That's all that it takes to make this quick banana bread recipe. It's a very simple bread recipe with extremely delicious results - enjoy!
